Traffic Engineering Concept for City Centre Brühl

The traffic investigations were a result of the planning for a shopping centre on the disused „Gieseler“ brewery site. The aim was to produce a traffic engineering concept for the city centre that would accommodate the expected traffic volumes. The basic networks for pedestrians, cyclist, public transport and commercial vehicles were defined and the necessary actions determined according to priority in an implementation concept.

Fields of activity:

  • Analysis of the daily traffic volumes.
  • Traffic forecasts for the years 2005 and 2015
  • Road network variations and capacity investigations
  • Configuration concepts for the important road areas
  • Time and implementation planning, cost estimates
